Eaglestar Further Improves Skid Mounting Safety

Jan 19, 2024

Recently, Eaglestar has been continuously studying how to further improve the safety performance of skid-mounted gas stations, among which isolation and explosion prevention are the top priority.
So what is the isolation and explosion-proof principle of skid-mounted gas stations? Why are isolation and explosion-proof materials reliable?

Explosion-proof principle of YTSH barrier and explosion-proof materials

1) Flame obstruction effect

Flame propagation is similar to fluid flow. One of the factors that affects the flame propagation speed is the resistance to its propagation. The pores blocking the explosion-proof material determine the resistance. The larger the pores, the faster the propagation speed; the smaller the pores, the slower the propagation speed. When the pores are small enough to a certain limit, flame propagation can be stopped. This effect of flame propagation and material pore obstruction is called material barrier.

2) Thermal conduction effect YTSH-barrier explosion-proof material

During the propagation process of the explosion flame, as the heat is rapidly absorbed and dissipated by the material with a large specific surface area, the flame propagation intensity is reduced, so the energy decreases until the flame is extinguished.

) Free radical "wall adsorption" effect

Mixed explosion is a chain reaction of free radicals. The reaction speed is limited by the number of free radicals per unit solvent, and free radicals can be adsorbed by the "magazine" and "wall" materials on the surface of the vessel wall. This "wall adsorption" effect reduces the unit The number of free radicals in the volume. The larger the surface area of the "wall" and the more "impurities" there are, the more opportunities there are for free radicals to be "adsorbed", so the number of free radicals per unit volume is also reduced. The number of free radicals participating in the combustion reaction is reduced, inhibiting the combustion and explosion reaction speed until the reaction is interrupted.

4) Cooling effect YTSH-barrier explosion-proof material

The heat generated by combustion can further increase the reaction temperature and speed up the reaction until deflagration or explosion. The thermal conductivity of YTSH-barrier and explosion-proof materials has the effect of dissipating heat and reducing temperature. This "cooling effect" inhibits the rise of temperature and the acceleration of reaction speed, making it impossible to cause deflagration and explosion.
